Why act now?

Alarmingly, more than 40% of the UKs CO2 emissions result from our day-to-day activities, at home and on travel. It is visible to us all the impact this has on our environment, especially around climate change. By not acting, we are ignoring the inevitable that we are destroying the planet. Only if we unite and join the fight against climate change, can we realistically acclaim to make a difference for our future.

What is exciting is that the UK government has committed to reducing CO2 emissions under the Climate Change Act 2008. The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target is one such legislation, whereby it obliges energy suppliers to help in reducing emissions from homes. The target set is a reduction of COby 20% before 2010 and 60% before 2050 from 1990 levels.

This has resulted in the creation of a number of different types of funding to entice people at home and at work to benefit from.

Examples of Government run incentives:

1) Clean Energy Cashback scheme (awaiting)

2) PAYS scheme (Interest free loans for homes - currently under pilot)

3) Carbon Trust (Interest free loans for businesses)

However, you need to be aware that some of these schemes may not be around for long, hence it is crucial that you act NOW to reap in the full benefits.

Other important factors to consider are the increasing costs for traditional fossil fuel generated energy and the drastic cost reduction of renewable energy systems from vastly improving technology. As well as making a positive contribution to the environment, installation of these measures will lower your household bills and can add significant value to your property.

We also cannot ignore to the fact that there has discussion on the introduction of increased Council Tax and Stamp Duty for millions of homes that are not energy efficient. Taking this all into account, we at Greenergy Consulting Solutions are happy to advise and support you through our campaign.
